Alicia Bembenek is the Advanced Training Coordinator for the UME Master Gardener program. Alicia obtained her Ph.D. in Experimental Social Psychology from the University of Arkansas and a Certificate in Public Health Practice from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Before beginning this position in 2015, Alicia served as Assistant Professor of Psychology at Georgia College & State University and then as Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at Towson University.

In her current position, Alicia is responsible for

  • coordinating an annual conference as well as various one to three-day trainings,
  • marketing and promoting those events,
  • evaluating the success of the trainings (e.g., reported usefulness of the information shared, knowledge gained, skills acquired, and behavioral impact),
  • and creating data visualizations of the evaluation results to gain a better insight of the findings.
